The Energy Smart Spa
THE ULTIMATE IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Hot Spring® spas deliver superior performance for just pennies a day. Our state-of-the-art features are designed to save you money.
TOTALLY INSULATED TO LOCK IN PRECIOUS HEAT
Totally Insulated Construction — We use multiple layers of high-density, closed-cell polyurethane foam, like a commercial freezer. Closed-cell foam is water repellent, while less expensive, open-cell foam can absorb water, which reduces its insulating value.
Exclusive Insulated Cover — While many spa manufacturers purchase covers from outside suppliers, Hot Spring makes its own covers for a customised fit. Our exclusive “shoe” in the cover hinge that forms a tight seal, locking in heat with 1.5 or 2 lb. foam insulation. It’s made of durable marine-grade vinyl and is tapered for water run-off. It features child-resistant safety locks and is UL classified in accordance with ASTM safety standards.
Driving innovation, Hot Spring Spas’ energy saving features maintain the water at your desired temperature, eliminating expensive heating, cooling and filtration cycles. Aquasun’s hot tubs are considered super energy efficient due to their exclusive possession of Energy Smart features that cannot be found elsewhere. Our Highlife and Limelight hot tubs feature the SilentFlo 5000 circulation pump, which actually operates with the utilisation of less energy than a 40-watt bulb; and components of our Limelight and Hot Spot range boast FiberCor insulation also, internally insulating the swim spa to a density four times greater than typical 8 kg/m³ foam.

We Guarantee You Will Not Find A More Economical Spa
There are many design features about HotSpring Spas that make them the least expensive spa to operate? Here’s just two fundamental reasons.
1. Our spas are totally insulated with multiple layers of high density, closed cell polyurethane foam– most spas are foamed with one layer of open cell polyurethane foam. Try the finger test – if you can push your finger into the foam it is open cell and has poor insulation qualities. Beware some spas are not foamed at all.
2. HotSpring Spas have a separate pump for filtration using only 80w and keeping the spa clean 24 hours per day. Most spas use their jet pump to save on production costs to do the filtration. This works on a timer but because it moves so much water it cools the water when you are not using your spa so not only is the jet pump using more electric, the heater is also coming on to reheat the water after the filtration mode.
In addition, our pumps and heaters are designed to deliver maximum performance using minimum energy.
Proof of our running costs?
Our six-seater Sovereign Spa operates on a normal 16amp socket. Most other four-seater -and-above spas require at least a 20 amp supply. Beware of claims of running costs with no written proof.
