In a recent study conducted by Dr. Philip Hooper at the McKee Medical Centre in Colorado, eight people with type two diabetes were placed in a hot tub for 30 minutes a day for three consecutive weeks. The results indicated that patients reported a 13% reduction in blood sugar levels, improved sleep and an overall increase in their sense of wellbeing. Further benefits were reported for patients that were unable to exercise in the study. The patients benefited from increased blood flow to skeletal muscles.
